Aodhán Ó Ríordáin.
A fresh, forward-looking brand for Dublin’s Labour MEP candidate
For June 2024’s European Elections, Labour’s Aodhán Ó Ríordáin wanted to step away from the Labour brand and focus on his local roots, his work in the area, and his forward-thinking.
His team asked Nowhere to create a standout identity for his campaign that would catch the eye on posters throughout Dublin and breathe a breath of fresh air into political campaigning in the area.
We created a lively brand colour palette that tied in with the Labour Ireland brand, and a suite of dynamic logomarks using fonts created in Dublin by Signal. Dublin-based photographer Emily Quinn took photos of Aodhán around his home city and at key places he loved such as the school he used to teach at – Aodhán’s personality and goals informed the less formal nature of the shots, which we then edited to reflect the new brand. Dublin-based copywriter Fiona Rickard nailed the tone of voice for the campaign communications, which included the website, direct mail and leaflets.
We translated the brand across digital adverts, web, animation, canvass cards, and posters of all sizes. Aodhán won the election and is now the MEP for Dublin Constituency.
